Seeking Pictures & Information for History Books

We are working on filling in missing information, etc. on individuals & families of the area for the history books. As we go through what we have this winter, I am posting names of ones that we would like more information & pictures on for the books on the Facebook Volney History Site. Write-ups for the Volney & Surrounding Area History Books... if you have a write-up for the book, contact me & I will let you know where to send it. We are working on 3 books

• up to 1910
• 1910 up to 1960
• 1960 up to 1985

If your family lived in the area during these times you can submit (contact me as to where to send it)

• an individual or a couples' write-up - life story or
• a family write-up - family history &/or family tree

We have a Book Committee that has been working on gathering materials for these books for about 3 years now. We will start meeting next summer to see what we have & pull the books together. It has taken us longer than we thought to get everything collected, but people also have family & work responsibilities, etc. & haven't been able to get things to us as we had hoped, but with the delay we have had others join our group & given us materials that we would not have had for the books if we had published them earlier.

I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE THAT IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER IS CONTRIBUTING TO THESE HISTORY BOOKS!

We plan to do a scanning of pictures for the books in May at the Hesperia Library if anyone needs their pictures scanned.

I HAD PLANNED ON SENDING OUT PERMISSION FORMS TO ONES THAT HAVE ALREADY SENT ME THEIR ADDRESS, BUT WITH EVERYONE BUSY WITH CHRISTMAS & CHRISTMAS MAIL, I AM THINKING THAT I SHOULD WAIT UNTIL AFTER CHRISTMAS TO SEND THEM OUT. Sorry, for taking so long to get them ready to be sent out. I've been so busy checking dates & locations on individual/couples/family stories for the books. Information that we get/find often has different dates & places for births, marriages, deaths, etc. & we want to get the information as correct as we possibly can.
